Muay Thai
The Course...
...will run for five weeks, taking place between 4.30 - 6.00 on a Sunday at Scott Hall Leisure Centre. The Instructor running the course will be Jay Parkin.
We will be teaching a range of techniques including punches, elbow strikes, knee strikes and kicks; we will also be covering clinching, blocking and parrying techniques. Optionally, contact sparring will be available; students will also be able to specify if they wish to do only body contact sparring (no strikes above the shoulders). Students taking part in sparring will be fully padded up with the appropriate protective equipment. The course will begin in mid-April and will be £30 in total. This is due in full by by the 20th of March. How do I sign up?
There are twelve places available for this course and once this is full we will begin a waiting list. Sign up in class or let us know via Facebook.

What do I need to bring?
You will need to wear gi pants and a T-Shirt or comfortable clothes that you can move and stretch in easily. All essential course equipment will be provided for you, including gloves, shin guards and striking pads.
If you wish to spar you will need a groin guard and a gum shield - we do not provide these as part of the course but you can order them from us in advance quite cheaply if you don't already have them. Please place orders by the 20th of March.
Some students may also wish to use their own gloves and shin guards or use additional gear such as hand wraps or ankle supports and again, these can be obtained through ourselves if desired. You can check out the equipment available via our online catalogue and for all equipment enquiries please contact an Instructor.
We strongly recommend that you bring a non-fizzy drink with you as Muay Thai is very active and can be an excellent work out!
